The 1990's Purity Culture defined sexuality for so many of us...but that wasn't necessarily a good thing. This unscripted podcast reflects the unpacking of problems and solutions we have regularly at Moral Revolution.
Talking about sexuality costs more than most of us want to admit. What do you do and how do you begin to navigate these situations when God calls you to step up and begin to lead in this area? What if you don't feel ready. Sex is a tridimensional experience: spirit, soul, and body. Anytime you have sex with a person you bond with them. Two people may decide to have sex ‘just for the fun of it,’ yet something is occurring on another level that they might not have decided on at all: sex is enhancing an emotional bond between them whether they want it or not. This is what we call soul ties.
The world defines intimacy as a sexual encounter, to be 'intimate' with someone. But really, casual sex encounters have no intimacy in them, and I would argue that any sexual encounters outside of a marriage hold very little intimacy, if any.
Women, we know you have questions when it comes to health and your body. We’re here to help you to fill in the gaps.

I remember sitting under a starry night sky, surrounded by beautiful trees when a handsome friend of mine started asking me questions about my life. It was charmingly romantic, except it wasn’t because he had a girlfriend. I knew this about him, but I didn’t think there was any harm in just talking to him.

The truth is that God is a God of redemption! Remarried husbands and wives: It takes the power of God to take dysfunctional situations and make something beautiful with them. Remarriage is real-life beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3).
As a parent, the thought of talking about sex with our kids can be overwhelming and cause quite a bit of anxiety. Depending on our own experiences and knowledge, we may not feel qualified to discuss the topic. If sexual issues were a part of our past, or continue to be a current struggle, shame can freeze us in our tracks. If we do muster the strength to broach the topic, it is often much later in their life than it should be. When it comes to talking about sex, the only “unfixable” mistake a parent can make - is to not talk about it.

Alli Patterson shares her vulnerable story of why she did it, how it happened, and the consequences of her affair on her job, her family, and her marriage but also the beautiful way Jesus has encountered her through the process.
“Can I take you on a date sometime?” Instantly we panic. How do we let them down gently without sounding like a jerk? Is a friendship possible if we say ‘no’? If we just ghost them out, will that solve the problem? Let’s look at some ways to speak your mind confidently without sacrificing kindness.

I met a young woman who was in search of significance.
Everyday she would live her life longing for acceptance from the people around her. If she got it, she was determined to keep it, and would wake up the next morning and try to emulate everything she did the day before in hopes that she would get it once again.
This month we have Debra Fileta here to bring a small teaser for you ladies (and any men listening in) to help normalize the conversation around what gets HER going and inspire you to not settle for less than God's best in whatever season of marriage you are in. Whether it's your mindsets, your moods, your body...there's so much more to talk about!
You ever notice that there is a cost to everything we do? That every ‘yes’ to one thing is a ‘no’ to something else? When I say yes to hanging out with my kids (which is a good thing), it means I have to say no to something else. There is a cost to my ‘yes.’ When we say ‘yes’ to pornography, we are saying ‘no’ to other things that would bring us life.
Yes, even on the free sites, there is a cost when we turn to porn.
Christa Smith, author of "Singled Out in a Couple's World", was single for thirty-nine years before marrying her husband. On her 35th birthday, she felt the grace lift and the desire and desperation for marriage rise. In this episode she shares:
- Why she things there is a stigma about singleness in the church
- How to live content while still contending and not giving up hope
- Her encounter where God asked her, "If you never get married, am I enough?"
I hear so many people talking about their longing for community and, all too often, lamenting their inability to find it. Maybe that’s you? Perhaps you’re reading this because you’re longing to find a place of belonging and just never seem to connect.
For the first ten years of my marriage, I struggled with the fear of abandonment. My father and my first pastor had both left their wives for younger women. Because of what I had experienced, I allowed fearful thoughts to linger unchecked in my mind. They didn’t yell; they whispered. Eventually all men leave. Don’t let them get too close. Then they can’t disappoint you.
